Karwar: MLA Satish Sail flagged off the Agriculture information Chariot, as part of the agriculture information campaign organized by the Agriculture Department, here on Saturday, to disseminate information on agriculture among the farmers.
“The government has started this campaign to help the farmers, and all farmers should utilize this opportunity,” Sail said.
The campaign is being held at the hobli-level in Karwar for three days.
Interact with scientist
Farmers can interact with agriculture scientists. By knowing the fertility aspect of the soil, suitable crop should be chosen before starting the farming activities, he advised.
Taluk Panchayat President Prameela Naik, City Municipal Council President Ganapati Naik, Taluk Panchayat member Purushottam Gouda, Agriculture Department Joint Director Honnappa Govind Gouda, Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer S N Naik and others were present.
Bantadeva Kalatanda members presented songs to create awareness among the farmers.
The campaign would be held for 10 days in 20 Gram Panchayat limits in the district. Street-plays would also be staged.
