Karwar: Efforts are on to bring dropouts back to schools under the ‘Shaley Kade Nanna Nadey’ Scheme, said Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child rights chairperson Kripa Alva.
She told reporters on Monday that as education can put an end to social evils such as child marriage and labour, the Commission would do its best to bring children back to schools.
“Once we get them back to school, the children will automatically develop interest in studies and realize the importance of education in achieving something good”, she said.
Kripa said she has instructed the officials to see that the scheme creates history, so that it would encourage other states to come out with a similar scheme.
The commission conducted 22 meetings in one month and officials are making all efforts to ensure success of the scheme, she added.
Zilla Panchayat chief Executive officer Ramprasad Manohar said that accredited social health activists (ASHAs) would be probed into convince the children to go back to schools.
