Bhatkal: Lifeguards rescued a tourist who was being washed away by the waves at Murdeshwar beach on Friday.

Basavaraj, a resident of Balehosur in Gadag district and a KSRTC employee, along with 40 others was picnicking at Murdeshwar beach. The group had come to Murdeshwar after visiting Dharmasthala. 

Basavaraj entered the water but was about to drown when lifeguards Shekhar Devadig, Vighnesh Harikanth, Praveen and Jairam Harikanth rushed to his help and saved him.
