Kundapur: A man died after he accidentally fell into the well at Kundabarandadi of Hakladi grama panchayat in Kundapur taluk. The body was removed from the well on Sunday, June 5.
 
The deceased has been identifed as Krishna alias Kushta Poojary (45) and his family members thought that he had gone to a faraway place for work, but on Sunday evening, his body was found in the well. Immediately police were informed and a fire brigade team arrived and removed the body later at the night.

As per the sources, this well belonged to Anthi Poojarthy and it is assumed that Krishna had fell down accidently. The well was found to be 35 feet deep and water level was nearly up to 2 feet.  At the bottom of the well, there exists a stone slab foundation. This well is situated on the way to the market.

 It is believed that while going to market,  Krishna might have slipped into the well and hit his head on the stone slab foundation which resulted in his death.  It was reported that Krishna was married with no kids and was alcoholic. His wife was staying at her mother's place in Basrur. Krishna was staying along with her younger sister and her husband. 

Police arrived at the spot and with the help of fire brigade and the dead body was taken out of the well. A case has been registered at Gangolli Police Station and investigation are carried on.
