Mangaluru: A tragic incident took place near Maravoor Railway bridge, resulting in the death of Shakir (30) from Chokkabettu. Shakir, along with four friends, had ventured to the riverside for a swimming excursion on On Monday. Unfortunately, during the outing, he lost his balance, slipped, and drowned.

Shakir's friends promptly informed the police and his relatives about the mishap. 

The Kavoor police have since registered a case, and the authorities successfully retrieved Shakir's body from the river.
