Bhatkal: Bhatkal’s leading socio-political Muslim body, Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem, has strongly condemned BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s statement blaming the Supreme Court for inciting religious conflict in India, calling it “insulting, false, and baseless.”

At a press conference, Maulana Maqbool Kobatte Nadvi, member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), said Dubey’s remarks—widely circulated in the media—were scandalous and intended to threaten the judiciary and provoke communal unrest. He warned that such statements are dangerous to the unity and peace of the nation.

Maulana Nadvi emphasized the Supreme Court’s vital role as the guardian of the Constitution and the protector of citizens' rights. He noted that recent comments from individuals in high office appear to be deliberate attempts to intimidate and silence the judiciary—actions that pose a direct threat to India’s democratic framework.

He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take action by expelling Nishikant Dubey and upholding the dignity of the judiciary. He also called on the Supreme Court to initiate suo motu contempt proceedings against Dubey and others who have sparked controversies with the intent to weaken constitutional principles by repeatedly targeting the judiciary.

Tanzeem General Secretary Abdul Raqeeb MJ Nadvi, along with members Advocate Imran Lanka, Azeezur Rahman Ruknuddin Nadvi, and Adam Panambur, were present.
