Bhatkal: False news spreads much quicker than real news. We should understand that if any news spreads very quickly then there is a high likelihood of it being fake, says Dr. Savita Kamath, Medical Officer of the Bhatkal taluka Govt. hospital.
She was talking with the members of All India Humanitarian Forum, who visited the patients at Bhatkal taluka govt hospital, distributed fruits and participated in the Republic Day celebration.
On this occasion, Dr. Savita shared her views and said that "False and wrong information spreads very fast and quickly, but the truth does not spread, because there is no one to see the truth, no one to hear it and no one to spread the truth".
She said that "It is very sad to hear the wrong and baseless things about Bhatkal. And media is doing it's part in spreading lies about Bhatkal and with an intent to mislead people".
She said "I studied in Bhatkal Anjuman so I have many Muslim friends, but you will not have Hindu friends because today Muslim schools are separated and Hindu schools are separated, both have lost contact with each other. Moving away from others, now my son will have no Muslim friends, similarly you, who are my children's age, will have no Hindu friends either".
She further said that just as my child watches TV and mobile phones all day and takes what he sees to be true, the same will be the case with the Muslim youth. What is being implanted in the minds of the new generation, they believe that is the truth, due to which the distance between Hindus and Muslims is increasing, hatred is being created against each other, which is our responsibility to remove. I know how our generation used to live together and love each other, but today's generation has no idea about it. People like me and my generation need to come forward today and bridge the widening gap between the two religions, if we don't do it now, we will regret it in the future, and time will run out and we will not be able to do anything after the extreme polarization in the country.
