Mangaluru: The New Education Policy (NEP) will be implemented from this year in selected schools, Minister of School Education, Literacy and Sakala B C Nagesh said on Thursday.

The NEP will be implemented in a full-fledged manner in all schools from next year onwards, Nagesh told reporters at Kukke Subrahmanya temple.

He said the NEP would be implemented in 400 to 500 schools from this year. “The SSLC and PUC annual examinations will be conducted as before as the examination scheduled has already been announced,” the minister said.

Nagesh, responding to a query, clarified that he was not aware about salaries not being paid to the guest teachers.  He assured that the salaries will be disbursed on time.
