Kumta: Patient committed suicide in a private hospital here at Kumta by hanging himself to the ceiling fan due to depression. 

It is learnt that he was suffering from many illnesses because of which he was depressed. The incident was reported on 5th June, Sunday. 

The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Naik (43), resident of Old Herwatta in Kumta. 

Sources say that he was admitted in a Canara health care hospital since 3rd June for the treatment of diabetes and chest problems. Thinking about his illnesses,  he resorted to the extreme step.

A case has been registered in Kumta police station.
