SDPI will contest in all seats in Dakshina Kannada

MANGALURU: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) state election in-charge Afsar Kodlipete said that the party will contest from 100 seats in the upcoming Assembly election.

He told reporters here on Monday that the state committee of the SDPI has already released a list of 54 candidates. “We will field candidates in all the eight constituencies of Dakshina Kannada. The SDPI will contest elections in the state for development and to eliminate corruption,” he said.

He said an economic crisis akin to the one in Sri Lanka will not be far away if BJP continues in power in India. “BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal says that if he had Rs 2,500 crore, he would have become the chief minister. Though Prime Minister Narendra Modi says ‘Na Khaunga, Na Khane Dunga’, no action has been initiated even when the contractors’ association Karnataka levelled allegations of 40% commission in public works.

A minister was sacked but no further action has been initiated. BJP MPs and MLAs are not capable of seeking Rs 12,000 crore towards GST share from the central government. While BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel asks workers to concentrate on ‘love jihad’ instead of roads and drainage development, IT and BT companies in the state are looking at Tamil Nadu and other states,” he said.
