Bhatkal: Car driver was killed in an accident on Manki NH 66 near Chettar cross around 30 km from here, after his vehicle rammed into a truck from rear. The deceased was identified as Ananteshwar  Rao (41), a resident of Mangaluru.

Tha accident happened at around 2:30 PM, Friday, when the car and truck both heading towards Honnavar from Mangaluru.

Though the locals tried to take the seriously injured driver to the nearest hospital, but the latter succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.

A case has been registered at Manki police station.
