Bhatkal: The renovated Tanzeem Millia Masjid, under the management of Majlis-e-Millia, Nawayat Colony, is all set for a grand inauguration ceremony tomorrow, Thursday.

 

According to Atiqur Rahman Muniri, President of the Administrative Committee, the event will be held at 4:30 PM and will be officiated by Maulana Umrain Mehfooz Rahmani, Secretary of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board.

 

Speaking at a press conference held at the Majlis-e-Millia office,  Muniri stated that the renovation work has been ongoing for the past 16 years, although some final touches are still pending. The mosque can accommodate over 10,000 worshippers at a time and is now considered one of the most beautiful and spacious mosques in Coastal Karnataka.

 

He further explained that the Tanzeem Millia Masjid is not limited to being a place of worship but will also serve as a center for social and educational activities. Special facilities have been arranged for the education of children, women, and the elderly.

 

Following the inauguration, a Qur’an recitation (Qira’at) program will be held at 8:30 PM, featuring renowned reciters Qari Hidayatullah from Jaipur (Rajasthan) and Qari Ahmad Ruknuddin Nadvi from Bhatkal. Dr. Muniri requested the community to participate in large numbers.

 

The press conference was also attended by Maulana Mohammed Irfan Nadvi, Imam of the mosque, and Javid Hussain Armar, a member of the administrative committee. The inauguration is expected to mark a new chapter in Bhatkal’s religious and social activities.
