Honnavar : The body of a police constable was found hanging from a tree at the eco beach of Kasarkod in Honnavar taluk on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Ram Nagesh Gowda (30), a police constable at Kundapur Police Station and a native of Hadumaskeri near Gokarna. 

Gowda’s elder brother lodged a complaint with the police with regard to the incident.

Online betting

According to the police, it has been stated in the complaint that Ram Gowda who used to involve in online betting had availed loans and was under pressure to clear them. That must be the reason for taking the extreme step.

Police are carrying out further investigation based on the complaint.
