Udupi: Shobha Karandlaje, MP, said on Thursday that speed governors should be compulsorily installed in private buses to prevent accidents such as the recent one at Trasi, when a private bus rammed a van killing eight students.
Speaking to reporters here, she said that such accidents would keep recurring if speed governors were not installed.
“The district police should take immediate steps to check the speed of private buses,” she said.
Ms. Karandlaje said she would be participating in a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police of the district soon, to urge them to take action on the matter.
