
Bhatkal: In a heartfelt display of social commitment, Uttara Kannada District In-charge Minister and Minister for Fisheries, Ports, and Inland Water Transport, Mankal S. Vaidya, commemorated the birthday of his daughter Beena Vaidya on Monday through a series of generous donations and welfare initiatives within his constituency.
As a birthday tribute, Minister Vaidya donated ₹5 lakh each to five economically disadvantaged families in his Bhatkal-Honnavar Assembly constituency to help them purchase land for housing. Among the beneficiaries were Sumitra Kameshwar Naik and Sarasa Ganapati Naik from Manki village, Honnavar taluk, who have long been living without proper shelter. The minister not only provided the financial support but also assured them of free housing under government schemes.
In addition, Minister Vaidya extended financial assistance for dialysis treatment to the daughter of Sumitra, who suffers from kidney failure, and contributed towards constructing a house for the family.

Continuing his philanthropic efforts, the minister announced that he has adopted 50 orphaned children from his constituency and will bear the full cost of their education. He also pledged personal financial support for the renovation of ten temples in the region.
Further, in a humane gesture, the minister provided aid for a prosthetic leg to an accident victim who had lost a limb and was struggling with mobility.
Beena Vaidya celebrated her birthday with party workers and supporters, choosing to mark the occasion with community service. Speaking at the event, she expressed gratitude to everyone who extended wishes and reaffirmed her commitment to working closely with party members. Tree saplings were also distributed among attendees to promote environmental awareness.
