Karwar: In wake of police personnel planning to go on protest on June 4 by opting for mass leave, Deputy Commissioner Ujjwalkumar Ghosh has directed the government employees of all other departments to compulsorily attend for duties on June 4.
This circular has been issued to see that there is no law and order problem in the district.
Ghosh has said that the department heads should not grant leave to any employee on that day besides, those who are on leave should be asked to return to duties on Saturday. Including Bhatkal, there are various sensitive centres in the district. Duties of police personnel is very much required here. If the police do not report to duties, the other staff should be on their toes to work during emergencies.
The forest and home guard chiefs should be put on emergency service.
The employees who violated the order and abstain from duties, would face legal action. The assistant commissioner and tahsildar should not leave the district headquarters and extend co-operation in maintaining law and order, he added.
