Bhatkal: Friends clash with knives and bottles; complaint and counter-complaint filed

Bhatkal: A violent altercation between friends over an old dispute resulted in them attacking each other with knives and bottles, leaving several injured in Poorvarga.

According to sources, the fight escalated after an argument regarding a past attack that took place during the Sodigedde festival last month. One of the individuals had allegedly been assaulted at that time, and his friends had failed to come to his aid. This unresolved issue led to a heated argument, which eventually turned into a physical altercation involving knives and bottles.

The injured individuals were taken to the government hospital for medical treatment, while complaints and counter-complaints were filed at the Bhatkal Town Police Station.

In a complaint filed by Nagraj Laxman Naik, a resident of Yalwadi Kavoor Sarpanakatte, he accused Manjunath Mastappa Naik (Poorvarga), Dayanand Venkat Naik (Hadin), and Shiv Raju Naik (Talgod) of the attack.

Conversely, in a counter-complaint filed by Shiv Raju Naik (Talgod), Nagraj Laxman Naik (Sarpanakatte), Suraj alias Lokesh Ganapati Naik (Gandhi Nagar Heble), and Dinkar Rama Naik (Yalwadi Kavoor) were named as the accused.

After receiving first aid at Bhatkal Government Hospital, the accused were presented in court and taken into custody. The Bhatkal Town Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
