Police raids house, one arrested for bootlegging

Bhatkal: One person was arrested after he was caught red handedly for storing and selling the illegal liquor at his house, when police personnels led by excise department went on for a raid at a place near Karundur in Haduvalli on mid-noon of 14th June, Tuesday.

According to the sources, the police have seized 25 litres of liquor and have arrested the accused person. The accused was produced in the court today.

The accused has been identified as Laxman Iswarappa Naik (65), resident of Karundur.

Bhatkal excise department inspector Manohar K, Sub inspector Shridhar Madival, Vishwanath Bhat, Manjunath Naik and Muhammad Sharif had participated in a raid.
