After securing eight additional marks in English, his total score increased to 597 out of 600
Mysuru: Ravish Suresh Bannihatti of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala in the city has emerged as the topper in the second Pre-University Course (PUC) science stream after the revaluation shored up his marks to 597 out 600. Earlier, P. Gowthami of MES College in Bengaluru was the topper, having scored 595 out of 600.
Ravish had originally secured 589 out of 600. After he applied for revaluation, he secured eight additional marks in English, taking up his total score to 597, according to Swami Muktidanandaji from the Vidyashala.
Ravish secured 100 each in Sanskrit, physics, mathematics and biology, 99 in chemistry and 98 in English. He is the son of B.P. Suresh, Assistant Director, Karnataka Milk Federation, Bengaluru, and Dr. Nalini.
Expressing happiness over Ravish’s achievement, Swami Muktidanandaji said he has proved that students could combine extra curricular activities with academics and yet emerge as toppers.
Incidentally, this is the second time in recent years that a student from the city has emerged topper after revaluation. In 2009, N.S. Aishwarya of Marimallappa's School had scored well in the SSLC exam, but emerged state topper after revaluation.
